Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. Breakfast was amazing. Staff was accommodating and the facilities were perfect.

The spacious rooms at Fuki no Mori Hotel come with private bathrooms with free toiletries. All rooms have traditional decors, a seating area and a balcony with views. Most rooms have tatami (woven-straw) flooring with futon bedding. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful with a mix of interesting and tasty food. It looked beautiful too. The onsen was amazing with wonderful facilities. We particularly enjoyed the outside onsen in the early morning. We paid for an evening meal( there was nowhere else to go anyway) and it was wonderful. Such interesting and beautifully presented food. Our waiter explained what everything was.

I selected Yorozuya because of its beautiful onsen but I came away with outstanding memories of the kind and helful staff, the amazing breakfast and dinner experience.

Bathroom is shared with other guests. Oshi Ryokan is a stunning property perched on the enge of the mountains,about 35 min from Nagano station. The views are unrivaled, and Higenori san is the most hospitable person ever. Great breakfast and fresh matcha tea every morning watching the sunrise over the mountains- would recommend this place to anyone after an authentic experience. Highly recommended

Akahira, the host, was the warmest and most thoughtful host we've met. the hotel has been with his family for 3 generations and it's amazing how the entire place is well maintained, unique from modern hotels, and genuine. We enjoyed the facilities, specially the onsen, and the traditional Japanese night wear. Highly recommend this place!

The room was very cozy, and their was an onsen inside the guest house as well. The main thing I wanna point out is the service - Kadowaki-san was such a fantastic host, helping with gear rental, recommendations, and general inquiries. It was very nice to talk to as well and very efficient with Google Translator :D. I was in Japan for 2 weeks, and this was by ease the best place I stayed at. Will definitely be back to this place and highly recommend it.

Tawaraya Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 15-minute walk from Heiwa Kannon. Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is a 30-minute drive away. I opted for the Kaiseki meal with my stay and it was largely very good. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location was very central to the station and bus stops to attractions like the Monkey Park. Staff were helpful and attentive, and the outdoor hot spring bath was beautiful and well maintained. It was on the pricier side but the value was also high.
