Very large house, pictures didn't do it justice. Great facilities for cooking and washing clothes. Great value as well.
Lovely private outdoor area to relax. Not far from Porto moniz for the pools, and a nice bar down the road for the best poncha in Madeira and close to the levada walk

The accomodation was amazing with a great location - in the middle of the countryside, super quiet. The apartment had everything we needed, the owner pays attention to the detail and was very friendly. Wish we stayed more days there.

You can tell from the interior that the apartments are still very new. Everything was clean and tidy. We especially loved the kitchen and how well equipped it was. Location is great, literally 150m from the natural pools. Contact through booking.com with owner and check-in/check-out worked perfectly.

Loved the sea pools, with cafe for after swim drinks. and the peaceful evening walks. Easy to catch a bus further afield. Harder to get to levada walks than I expected, and I would avoid the ones that come back down steep hills to coast - rough and dangerous surfaces

This is not a sand beach vacation.
This is not a sand beach vacation. There are tidal pools to swim in if the weather cooperates. Be aware that the north side of the island is cooler and more likely to rain. We enjoyed our 2 night stay by the ocean but that was enough

Very good base to explore north-west side of the island
Very good base to explore north-west side of the island
Nice option if you want to cool down in the pool-there are actually 2 spots with ocean water, one more natural than the other, both can have better tourism services and catering options

A beautiful little town with the most beautiful swimming in Madeira in natural pools with sea water and sea fish. Protected from the waves and great for bathing and swimming, in a beautiful wild nature surrounded by rocks. Everything is close by car, the most beautiful levadas, the Fanal forest. Really spend more days.

We were driving around Madeira Island for 8 days & Porto Moniz was 1 of the most scenic area, beautiful rocky formations with the natural pools. We only stayed overnight, but wished we could have spent more time here, experience swimming the natural pools. Beautiful instamagramable picturisque views. We highly recommend Porto Moniz.

Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
the ocean view is amazing.
The city has both natural and paid natural pools, where the only option is to swim.
if you are a fish lover, there are really many good restaurants in this city.
for us, the tastiest fish was Espada.
It is also a great place to visit the Fanal forest, the Telegrafico gondola and the Rabacal area.
for us, who are fans of bends, steep roads, beautiful nature and of course the sea, this part of the island was the most beautiful.
House has all the comforts of a family vacation home, spacious well equipped kitchen, private lounging bbq patio, family room… parking driveway is a little tight but still very nice to be off street. Beautiful views, quiet locale but also close to nearby attractions, grocery and restaurant. The drive to and from property is hilly and sharp turn at places, can take getting used to but not unusual for Madeira. Silvia the host is very responsive, kind and welcoming, checkin and out was simple and easy. Wonderful stay! Highly recommend.
Really great hotel with superb staff, facilities, restaurant and location. It is a complete package, everything here is above Madeira's average standard. Nicely designed room, well equipped and very comfortable. You will get a good welcome drink from Madeira wine and on top of that also pleasant surprise is a bottle of sparkling wine in the room. Fantastic breakfast with plenty to choose from. There is a stunning rooftop pool area with sunbeds and bar. Very convenient location close to natural pools. Totally recommend.
Absolutely amazing place. We took a room with a balcony facing the seaview and it was 100% worth its' price. It is the best place I've ever been to. People working in the hotel are very helpful and nice. We also received a lot of nice gifts: a bottle of wine, sweets and snacks in our room - all included. The breakfast is quite nice and there are plenty of sweet treats in it. We loved every bit of this place and definitely plan to come back
The hotel is run by a family. It's nice and cosy, clean, bathroom of good size, and we had a balcony overlooking the sea. It is 2-3 minutes walking to the free (old) natural pools, and around 5 minutes walking to the new (paid) ones. You are right on the main street with restaurants and Christmas lights in Porto Moniz. Breakfast was good, although a bit inconvenient that they only served it from 9 to 10 - but we planned around that!
Casa das Escaleiras offers a truly exceptional 180° ocean view and is located in a privileged position overlooking the lovely town of Porto Moniz. It's a modern house totally rebuilt instead of an old dwelling, whose nude stone walls have been integrated cleverly into the cosy bedroom with wooden ceiling. The house is fully equipped (even a separate barbecue room and a swimming pool are awaiting you) and uses solar energy.
Perfect choice for ocean lovers: One could hardly sleep closer to the sea while still on the land. The views from the balcony and even from the very comfortable bed are amazing: One might get the feeling that the waves perform their wild dances exclusively for the thrilled guest of this excepionally well designed hotel. Besides the room was clean, the staff was friendly and Porto Moniz is a very charming place to be.
I am so happy that we chose to stay in Porto Moniz and in this apartment. The apartment is on the top floor, it is very big and sunny, with 3 terraces from which I watched the most beautiful sunrises. The apartment is clean and cozy, it has everything you need for comfortable living. Nearby are Porto Moniz Natural swimming pools and taverns, as well as a supermarket. I definitely want to come back here again!
Had an absolutely fabulous time staying here. The accommodation and other facilities like the restaurant and hotel were amazing, and the staff went above and beyond for us, making us feel so welcome and at home throughout our stay. The hotel is in a great location and the breakfast was delicious and with a stunning view.
The facilities and room was perfectly fine - a bit dated, but clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast was very nice.
For a budget hotel I would give it an 8, but at this price our expectations were higher - we stayed in several cheaper hotels around Madeira and all had better value for money.
The location is excellent. 25 m distance to Porto Moniz Natural Pools and the ocean. We kept windows open in order to enjoy the ocean sounds during the night.
There is pay-based parking close to the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and made an effort to accommodate special dietary restrictions.
The hotel is absolutely perfect, beautifully decorated, the room we had was an amazing suite, we got the use of the pool, there was a lovely breakfast and we had drinks in the evening at the terrace bar. The staff went above and beyond to help with a smile on their face. We highly recommend it!
amazing place for this little money. super professional polite stuff, super clean rooms and facilities, surprise in the room, great breakfast. I stayed in a few other 5* hotels on the island. and this one was 4*but the best out of all of them. thank you for making my vacation great.
Location and room decor are great. They give you free entrance to the natural swimming pools and to other facilities of other natura hotels. Breakfast view is incredible. Nice sparkling wine upon arrival and received with local cocktail.
The staffs are friendly and the location is amazing. The apartment is located super closed to beautiful natural swimming pool Porto Moniz (2 mins walk) and many many nice restaurants, groceries. Atmosphere is great!
The location is great!
It was quite easy to park the car in front of the hotel.
For the breakfast: there was something for everyone. Did not miss anything.
The room was clean and big enough :)
Great location. Easy access to everything you would need in Porto Moniz. Nice garden patio. Super cute decor. TV with Netflix in case of those endless rainy days:)
The attention to detail and comfort is outstanding. It’s like a luxury five star hotel inside a cozy, local cottage. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
