It close to train station and not to far from the ferry terminal. It’s quite at the same time
Set just minutes from the beach, the Hotel Mirador’s rooms boast free internet connection, and large balconies from which you can admire great views of Algecira Bay.

Great contact with the owner, a lot of good information about what is valuable to see in Algeciras and neighborhood. Clean place to stay and see the town, Tarifa and Gibraltar.

It is a great place to get ferries to Morocco or to get the shuttle to Tarifa to do the same.
I have been before and found it to be a pleasant small town with a good patisserie/bakery that had Moroccan foods (briouwats, mini pastilla, etc).
The reason for the 'average' rating of the town stems from the fact that the place I booked was unhelpful and would not allow me to access the property at midnight even though I had paid in advance. As a result I was stranded and had to wander about at night, sleep on a too short stone bench and cat nap until the FRS ticket offices opened.
Algeciras is reasonably easy to navigate on foot. There are some cafés by the central market that open early for the traders. There is also a Carrefour express in the area between the train Station and the port with a full selection of goods.
I cannot rate 'Conv3nient R00ms - F3rry, Tr@in & Bus $tation' as I was not allowed entry to the property at midnight (late trains, missed connections) having paid for in advance my room. Unfortunately the proprietor was not helpful and I was left wandering the streets all night as not other hostals were open. A cold night with a very short stone bench! (Perhaps this is a rating?) I would avoid this place on my next visit and look for a better rated (more expensive hostal/hotel.
I would love to return yet again to Algeciras under better conditions and have an actual 'holiday there, rather than using it merely as a travel interchange. The town looks lovely and no doubt has things to offer away from the mildly salubrious Tran Station/Port area.

Gibraltar can not be reached by train, and one needs to stay a night somewhere to explore Gibraltar. Algeciras is ideal for this stay, and if you are here, then spend some hours for walking Algeciras,

After being in Marocco for 2 months, it felt like I was still in Marocco, but at the bus station, you can get a bus ticket to Madrid for €21.78, it's a 9 hr bus ride and only makes a 30 min stop, but it was worth it, didn't like Algeciras, but the stay at the Hostel was brilliant, only thing the property needs to do is, undated on how you enter the property.

A much more authentic experience of a Spanish small city/town. Less busy than most other locations in this area and we loved it. We could easily have stayed a week. Very good tuna combo plate at Maridaje.

We weren't intending to stay here but had an extra day due to the ferry cancellation. The centre was small enough to walk round and was interesting enough without having anything really noteworthy.

Fantastic welcome at Mir Octavio !
Excellent location : 2 mns walk from the train station / 30 seconds from coach station / 10-15mns walk from the ferry passenger terminal and a few minutes walk from Algeciras old town.
An excellent base to explore Algeciras / Ceuta / Gibraltar. The hotel even kept my luggage when I went to Ceuta.
Very good quality price and very clean.
I liked the small breakfast too. For 3 euros you can have toasts, coffee and a juice !
Would stay again if I am in Algeciras.
Thanks team !
There is a lot of history and old-world charm in this hotel. Staying in this hotel gave you a sense of what the world was like in the turn of the century, and much of the furnishings date back to the days of the Titanic. The hotel had a British charm, and sometimes we felt like we were in a ghost hotel, and that was actually very cool. Our favorite person was the barkeeper named David he made us feel at home and went out of his way for anything we needed.
- This hotel is like a pearl in a treasure box, you have the best view to both Gibraltar and Morocco.
- The hotel owner was super nice and helpful with any types of questions.
- The owner made us breakfast packs including a sandwich, fruit and drinks as breakfast for a day which we wanted to leave very early morning.
- The breakfast of the other days was fantastic. He made us a table of all options, a luxurious and romantic table. Just loved that!
Very friendly helpful people who went out of their way to help us. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and the shower was excellent. The location near the ferry port and shared kitchen facilities were a plus.
We look forward to returning to Algeciras to explore more of the area and would stay here again.
Very nice hotel room. Easy keys collection from the 24h reception desk. Modern, clean, large room with functional layout. Free street car parking in from of the hotel. Good location close to the port and ferry terminal. Free breakfast included in the price. Strongly recommend.
Spacious and family-friendly hotel with a good restaurant inside. Also, very helpful stuff (especially in the restaurant)! Moreover, it's located almost in the bus station from where You can easily reach Tarifa, Gibraltar or Costa del Sol. Really recommend!
Room was spacious and clean, so was the bathroom. Wi-fi was great. Views from the room were nice (even though you can see industrial part of the port), Rock of Gibraltar was nicely visible. Room has a lot of storage space. Hotel staff were friendly.
No this , it was so dirty , bed sheets were under the blankets , dust everywhere , the receptionist was a bit rude didn’t talk to us properly .
And it was a bit expensive compared to other hostels I’ve been to In Spain.
Recommend eating in the hotel restaurant. Food was exceptional as was the service, a highlight of our stay. Our room was large with access to the deck with views of Gibraltar as well as of Ceuta and Tangiers.
Very comfy bed and nice temperature in the room...it was cozy.
Free Nespresso coffee down at the restaurant area so we didn't need to leave the hotel in search of a café.
Quiet location and clean and tidy with helpful staff. Could park the motorbike safely outside all good and a nice place to stay in Algeciras for the ferry to Africa.
Spacious room and terrace with bay and Gibraltar view. Beach is a minute or two walk. There was even space right in front of the hotel for free parking.
