At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.
However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.
The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.
The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.
Osaka is great, almost a world apart from Tokyo culturally.
Osaka is great, almost a world apart from Tokyo culturally. It was far less formal and felt almost like you had left Japan (the amount of tourists probably helped contribute to that also). We had some amazing nights there, meeting some great people, but can be a bit exhausting if you save Osaka until the end of a long trip. It deserves at least 4 days in itself, being mindful of how mental Dotonburi is at the weekend. It's like being a tourist in a tin of sardines.

The popular areas can be a bit overwhelming but we found lovely walks by the river and open spaces to escape the crowds. Close to Kyoto for day trips.
Excellent food at the local restaurants. Don’t be intimidated by the lack of menus in English.

Great city to visit, shopping is fantastic and not as busy as Tokyo. Plenty to do. We used the train network, the train network is both beyond great and easy to use if you live there, (meaning) we were a group of six and have travelled many times in the past and in Japan the rail took lots of effort to understand the complexity on that large scale, some of the smallest of stations are the size of melbournes main station, the stations are so big, a simple mistake is a lot of wasted time.

Osaka full of adventures, good foods, visiting points.
Osaka full of adventures, good foods, visiting points. I like to join local tour to Kyoto and places around Osaka. I tried different type of food like omaskase, belt sushi, shabu shabu, spaghetti, crab, wagyu and more, very tasty and delicious. Universal Studio is my favorite place to go.
Osaka is really good.

Everything is good except using the train; it’s super complicated and confusing and a lot of people. I think it needs better English translation of how to access the train especially when buying tickets and transfers and exiting the stations.
The staff were very friendly and the rooms were huge compared to a typical hotel room in Japan.
I was able to walk between two metro stations very easily which made getting around the city very easy. The Lawsons across the road was an absolute life saver! And there are loads of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a sushi restaurant which looked amazing though I didn’t use it because I had already booked other plans.
The general vibe of the room was great. If we come back to Osaka we will definitely stay here again!
Loved our 5 nights stay here! Location was good and close to the Osaka Metro train lines. There are some delicious hidden food places in walking distance. We made good use of the coin laundry self service and also the ice machine.
The supermarket, family mart and 7Eleven downstairs were very handy too.
We would highly recommend this hotel. Great service and we also rented (free of charge) a Japan to Australia power plug. *Note that this is based on availability. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again if back in Osaka.
Great location in the middle of Dotonbori, lots of shops, bars and restaurants in the area. Also located in between Namba and Nippombashi stations, which both have various lines serving them. Check in was seamless and the staff member was really friendly and helpful - also provided extra pillows which we had asked for. Room was clean and decent sized by Japanese standards. Pretty modern hotel with sufficient power points and USB charging ports. Overall, good value for what you get, especially if looking to stay around Dotonbori.
The room was large with excellent facilities (including a kitchenette and washing machine). It was immaculately clean with a lovely and modern interior decoration, and fantastic view of Osaka. The free amenities were also great (as is standard in Japan). The hotel lobby also had a fantastic view. The hotel is also within walking distance of Dotonbori but far enough away to not be impacted by noise, which was perfect. The price was also very competitive. I will definitely use this hotel company again.
We spent one night in Osaka before traveling on to other parts of Japan. The hotel is very pretty and has an interesting church on the grounds. The staff were helpful and cheerful. Beds were fine, shower was fine. The hotel is not in the train station, but is accessible from the train station by walking underground. We had an issue with our thermostat and they came right away to fix it -and it was fixed to our satisfaction. We didn't eat there, but the restaurants looked very nice.
Property was very well kept and the staff were always super kind. Room was super spacious for Japan, we finally had space to open our suitcase. Bathroom was also very large with seperate shower and bathtub and counter space with all the usual japanese amenities.
The location was great for us. Two convenience stores right across the street, subway 3 minute walk from the hotel with a supermarket on the basement floor. Osaka castle is about a 30 minute walk from the hotel.
The public bath on the 10th floor is amazing. The Lobby has various relaxing events throughout the day like a vinyl session from 15-16, and the staff was really helpful, both in a friendly and professional manner. The rooms themselves are appropriately sized for
japanese standards and are very clean. If you want to experience the nightlife in Osaka I recommend this hotel, because it is within walkingdistance of Dotonbori, and you can get back in all night.
Excellent location, walking distance from both Osaka Station, Osaka Castle, and Dotonbori (about 40 minutes to each) Also really close to a metro station and several convenience stores. The area is also full of bars and restaurants of all types. The hotel itself was great, and the view from the breakfast room spectacular. The room was small, but that seems to be par for the course for hotels in Japan. Definitely recommended for a one-person stay!
A decent basic hotel, comfortable, clean and a reasonable sized room (for a Japanese budget hotel) with a nice view of the river (not from all rooms) and a 15-20 min walk to Osaka station. Good services nearby, and Nakanoshima's impressive Festival Towers. If your main interest is the night-life of Dotonbori, it's a good 20 minute walk away although frankly, Osaka has far better things to offer.
Great hotel. I loved the mix of american and european charm it had despite being in Japan. It was spacious and beautiful, with awesome classical music playing in the lobby at all times. One of the best hotels I stayed in Japan. Great location within walking distance from dotonbori and everything you need in Osaka. Would definitely stay again, I was very impressed.
One of my favourite hotels we stayed in during our time in Japan. This hotel had a nice reception area with amenities to use for free. The onsen was also a nice bonus to visit at the end of the day and relax. We also liked the rooms and had enough space for the two of us and our suitcases. The location also made it easy to get to the heart of Osaka's food!
This is a newly refurbished hotel that’s a couple of minutes from the east exit of Shin-Osaka station. Super clean and comfortable. Highly recommended for easy access to the Shinkansen or remote work (they have a work desk and plenty of outlets). Room is a bit bigger than the average Japanese business hotel. Will definitely stay again.
Since 2006, have been staying Toyoko inn hotel when i come to japan for my work. At this price, there nothing much to pick on....Seriously, i can say that the breakfast is pretty good and there is bus service to Osaka Umeda station. Travel to all tourist spot is accessible with public transport. My family love staying in Toyoko inn!
Stayed for one night. Facilities were new or maintained. Beds were comfy and view was fantastic. Loved japanese style bath in hotel room. Located close to shin osaka station where I could easily walk during the rain.
Best breakfast I had in Osaka hotels. Will stay here again next time.
The location of the hotel is excellent, it is in the city centre of Osaka conveniently connected with the well organized transport system within the city as well as to other cities in Japan. Furthermore we can take the airport limousine bus directly arriving to the hotel.
Large rooms with comfortable beds, plus a nice bathroom with bath salts. The hotel is also right next to the metro station which makes it easy to reach Osaka/Umeda station, and Namba. It’s about a 20 min walk to Dotonbori. The hotel breakfast is also so delicious.
The hotel is very well located in Namba, Osaka. Convenient access to multiple transit options, within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. This is par for the course for big cities like Osaka, Kyoto, and Japan. Still, the location was super convenient.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a comfortable version of the standard Japanese business hotel style. Very easy to get to any part of Osaka, and conveniently located for leaving on day trips round Kansai from Namba or Tennoji.
Fantastic location, right near Dotonbori - I think it was the perfect location in Osaka! Amazing having an onsen in the hotel and free to use for guests!
